Taking place over the course of a decade, City of God tells the story of the parallel lives of two boys, Rocket and Li’l Dice who are both from one of the worst slums in Rio de Janeiro and who both get caught up in the violence and despair which destroys their communities, one as a photographer desperate to escape his background and one a violent gangster. This is an amazing film but be warned, it is extremely violent and contains strong language as well as harrowing drug scenes. |
